This is the second release trailer for Harvest: Massive Encounter. It showcases the basic features of harvest and displays some pretty amazing footage from the game.
The game will be released March 5, 2008, and this is the promotional release trailer!
One of the game modes in Harvest: Massive Encounter is the “Wave” mode. In this mode you must defeat ten alien waves as quickly as possible. To add some strategic depth you are also allowed to choose in which order the waves should appear, and each time you add a wave the remaining will grow stronger.
In this short clip thewreck (one of the game designers) defeats a triple-wave on the Poseidon planet.
(Sorry about the sound quality, the sound mixer on thewreck’s computer is giving us a hard time.) (more)
Here’s another short development clip from me playing Harvest: Massive Encounter. This time I’m playing the RUSH game mode on Poseidon, one of the game’s planets.
In the RUSH mode you begin with a lot more resources (as you can see), and you will have to use them quickly because a really large alien force will appear both on the west and east sides after 2 minutes. The objective of the mode is to survive long enough to deal 50,000 points of damage on the aliens. Your time is then uploaded to an online high-score server, so you can compare and compete with other players.
The Poseidon planet is still in development, but if you look closely you will see that there’s a wind blowing. That’s also why the east front arrives to the base so much faster than the western one.
Also, as you can see, we’ve added a new “create deathstar” button for the Defense Towers. It’s kind of handy when dealing with those pesky summoners!
This is a short clip we recorded while playing the first 10 threat levels of Harvest: Massive Encounter. It’s intended as a small hint on how to survive in the game, but it’s not a “perfect session”.
We played in 2x game speed to decrease the size of the clip, which also made us make some mistakes
